Establishment and promotion of two no of WASH Academy (2015-16),

Introduction:
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) is a vital component of human health and well-being. Access to clean water and improved sanitation facilities is essential for the health and dignity of individuals and communities. The government of many developing countries has been working to provide access to safe water and sanitation for all citizens. In this regard, the establishment and promotion of two WASH academies in a district of a developing country were undertaken in the year 2015-16. This report outlines the objectives, activities, and outcomes of this project.

Objectives:
The primary objective of establishing WASH academies was to enhance the capacity of the local population in managing and maintaining water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities. The following were the specific objectives of the project:

  1. To provide training to local people on water quality monitoring, operation, and maintenance of water supply systems.
